Google kills this site often due to high traffic (Bandwidth), I am so sorry! I will work on getting a new site this summer. Please try back later, most of the time that works, if not the weekend is when I have the least traffic.

Gallacher Math (Try this site if you are having problems downloading). Most of my powerpoints are here, they are not in any order as I was unable to have that kind of control, but most of them are there.

New PowerPoints

For all you Twilight fans, here is my lastest work of art :) This PowerPoint is on geometry and covers most of what is tested on the CST's.

OK, here is my spring break project, I am a big Star Trek fan, so in honor of the new movie I made a "full" book review using the New Star Trek movie as my theme. Hope you like it!! I have included some cool sound effects you can add to the powerpoint, I have found that the kids love them! (To insert sound: download, right click and save taget as. Then open the powerpoint and choose Insert from menu and select movie or sound, then sound from file. Choose from auto or when clicked, I use auto for these and your done). Just added Harry Potter another CST review on things we thought our students needed to know before the BIG test :)

Summer Vacation

My cruise to Alaska was probably one of the best trips I have ever taken, the beauty was indescribalbe.

My project for this summer is to create new PowerPoints for our new math textbooks.  We have adopted Holt Mathematics (Course 2: Pre-Algebra) and we are excited about the technology they offer. I am going to go chapter by chapter and reorganize the old PowerPoints and projects and add new ones as they are created. If you have any suggestions or see any typo's (I am really good at these) please let me know.

Middle School Math Project: (EETT Grant) Updated Jan 2009

We (the seventh grade math team) are using technology in our math classrooms to improve student learning and conceptual understanding of mathematics.  As part of our grant we purchased Qwizdoms, Interwrite Pads, Laptop computers, and LCD projectors.  We are using United Streaming, Brain Pop, MicroSoft Office as well as other online resources.  We use the California Standards and Holt Mathematics: Book 2 as our main resources.  Our team is working together to create fun and interactive activities in our classrooms to engage students.  We are excited to share our progress and setbacks with other interested teachers.  Our API is 761 (up almost 51 points from last year) and our school rank is 6 state-wide (up one from last year) and 8 in simular school (up 2 from last year, these are from last year as school ranking are not out for this year yet). See California Test Results for more information. Our goal is to reach 800 in the next 5 years :).

We are focusing on using graphic organizers, or Thinking Maps, this year in an effort to help students take better notes. A great site for math graphic orgainzers is http://www.sw-georgia.resa.k12.ga.us/GO%204-8/4-8%20GO.htm. Vocabulary is also a focus and we working to help our ELA students have a better understanding of the language of math. I am going to be creating some math graphic organizers and will post them as they are created.

Circle graphs chapter 6.1

We are developing technology activities for each chapter in the Holt Mathematics: Book 2 for 7th grade math.  Our standards are at California Math Standards Grade 7 .

All PowerPoint's will be available on this web site and movies can be accessed throughUnited Streaming.

I will update this site as we progress through the year.

Strokes to my ego:) Thanks for all your comments

I am a first year teacher that needed lots of resources. I teach 7th special education and your powerpoints really made a big impact with my visual learners. I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful help you gave me. My students really improved from last year and I know that part of it was your wonderful website. Your website rocks ;Y.

__________

Incredible!!!   It was serendipitous that I found your site.  I am very impressed with you, your creative website, your creative power points, your creative activities, and most of all, your unbelievable generosity.  I too am teaching Holt Course 2 for 7th grade and looking forward to trying some of your power point lessons and activities.  What kind of computer do you have???  I am looking forward to your upcoming power points designed specifically for Holt.  You are a find!!!!  Thank you!

___________

This is my first year teaching 7th grade math in the Philadelphia School District.  I teach in a low income area that is very fortunate to have access to Promethean boards and laptop computers in the classroom.  I am always looking for ways to improve my teaching and technology is a huge part of that.  Your site is awesome!

 ______

I am the RTI Comprehensive Remediation Math teacher at a Middle School SC. My job is to fill in the gaps of my 6th,7th and 8th graders based on their performance on our state's standardized test.  I am always looking for ways to review with them. I found your website especially helpful to assist my 8th graders (filling in 7th grade gaps)

Thank you for all your hard work- and know that there is a small classroom in SC that loves your powerpoints and jeopardy games.  I love the fact that I don't have to recreate the wheel <grin>

______

Thank you so much for the website and all the activities and suggestions you have posted there!  I only wish I had found it at the beginning of the school year instead of the end of the year!
I've been teaching a very long time and it's time I updated my approach to teaching 7th graders!  They get pretty bored with ol' Ms A....this will really help spice things up for them!
Thank you!

______

I was searching the internet for some slope activities when I happened upon your website.  Wow!!!  It is awesome.  I have added it to my favorites for easy access.
Thanks so much,

_____

I have checked out your website many times, and I just wanted to say that you do a wonderful job of integrating technology and making activities fun for your students.  I just looked at your twilight bingo.  I am sure the kids will love that.  We have such a big twilight following at our school, as I am sure you do too.   I teach in Gloucester County, VA- 7th grade and 8th grade math.

____

Angie - as a new teacher, I find your site hard to live without!!!   You have helped me so much.

____

I just wanted to let you know I love your web page!!  This is my second year of teaching and I am looking for different (and fun) ways to teach 7th grade math.

____

I was very impressed with the slideshow presentations of your math lessons.  They are very thoughtful, and well designed so that students can learn the material in easily digested steps.  I am very impressed that each lesson seems to end with a short quiz of five problems.  This models the way that I teach as well.  The quiz ends the lesson as a reinforcement.

____

Thank you for your site. I have tutoring my daughter and have used your site as my own tutorial.

____

I don't remember how I got to your web site but it is very good.  I have wanted to do a jeopardy game but never have taken the time to develop them.  Thank You, your games gives me a head start and can easily be modified

Hi Mrs. Gallacher,  my name is Robyn and I am a brand new teacher this year... I was hired by my school district just one day before school started (last Wednesday) I stumbled upon your web site a couple of nights ago as I was scrambling to get some things put together for my class.  The information you have available is perfect for what I need.
